Project Management

This is something I found in my work confluence space. It was dated: Sep 11, 2019. I don’t remember why I put this in there. All I know is that it good information

I think of all the sections, project failure is the one to watch out for. As a government worker, the ones in bold are the big ones.

  • What is project?

    • Temporary in Nature, endeavor to create a unique product, capability or result.

    • Project has start/end date, expected output

  • Project Failure

    • Lack of Leadership, no one in charge or everyone

    • Lack of Stakeholder buy-in

      • Stakeholder is anyone who is affected by the project. Includes those who may stop it.

    • Poor scope definition

    • Project strays from its original goals

    • Unclear outcomes/expectations

    • Changing standards

    • Insufficient or mismanaged resources (budget/labor)

    • Poorly defined or unrealistic timeline

    • The project plan lacks structure and detail

    • The project is not tracked against the plan

    • Inadequate or non-existent testing with end user

    • Project team is not communicating

    • Political infighting.
