Road to a health bodyfat/bmi (redux)
This is one of my new years resolution: to relose my weight. I am as of the New Year, medically overweight.
Why is this journey going in as a blog entry? From what I read when you have accountablity you do a better job. As always, I like to have a record of my social media on my own site even though I am on My Fitness Pal.
Before I get started, here are some simple facts about obesity or being medically overweight: [AOBF2020]
The prevalence of obesity was 39.8% and affected about 93.3 million of US adults in 2015~2016
The prevalence of obesity was 39.8% and affected about 93.3 million of US adults in 2015~2016 Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer that are some of the leading causes of preventable, premature death.
The estimated annual medical cost of obesity in the United States was $147 billion in 2008 US dollars; the medical cost for people who have obesity was $1,429 higher than those of normal weight.
As last time I tried my goal is to use percent bodyfat as my goal. Although I am looking for a 15% body fat, the range I am looking for is 15% to 17%. The numbers I plan to base it by my bodyfat on my Index scale and American Council on Excerse:
